Workshops

Short, focused instruction targeting specific skills
Available in-class & online

VUB offers in-class and online instruction in a workshop format allowing students to gain specific skills in short classes. Workshops fit tight schedules well and allow participants to gain the skills they need quickly and efficiently.

Preparing to e-file Your Taxes

Filing your taxes online can be quick and easy. Use our checklist to gather the documents and information you will need to e-file and attend the workshop to have your "how to" questions answered. The VUB computer lab is staffed and open for you to file your taxes using software that is available free online.

2 Week Math & Writing Refresher:
Preparing for College Placement Testing

(In-class & Online)

The Compass, Aleks and eWrite assessments are placement tests used by colleges and some training programs to evaluate an incoming student's level of math, writing and reading. The results are used to place students in college math and writing classes matched to their skill levels. VUB's 2-week workshop is design to quickly refresh math and writing skills in preparation for taking the college admission assessment at the end of the workshop (any associated testing fees are covered by VUB). This workshop provides 16 hours of math review and 12 hours of writing review. This workshop is offered fall, spring, and summer on campus at select sites and streamed live online.

Personal Finance

Covers topics related to an individual's financial situation: employment pay, benefits, and working conditions; our federal tax system and filing personal income tax returns; the principals necessary to develop short-term and long-term financial goals; developing a monthly budget; creating and maintaining a personal filing system; making banking decisions based on short-term and long-term financial goals; and understanding the impact of credit scores.

You don't need to have it all figured out to move forward.
