These are real experiences, in the words of the veterans who lived them. We’re grateful to every veteran who shared their story — and we hope it helps you picture what your own path with VUB could look like.
I found Veterans Upward Bound to be extremely helpful in honing my academic skills as well as preparing me emotionally to attend college at an age where most attendees are of younger generations. VUB has and continues to help me navigate the pressures and deadlines that I am up against as a veteran and an adult learner.
My experience was great. The instructor did a great job of teaching, where I understood English and writing much better than I have in the past.
VUB gave me the confidence to pursue higher education by letting me take refresher classes with them.
My tutor for my on-line statistics was absolutely amazing. We met in person, on-line etc. He helped me get through one of the toughest classes of my career. He brought things down to my level.
It was amazing! I am so grateful to have had some help and refreshing before attending my actual classes. It was extremely helpful!
Veterans Upward Bound steered me in the right direction and gave me the confidence to succeed.

It was a very pleasant experience, beginning with the introduction to the program and through the time in classes. The follow-ups during my time in the program were beneficial.
The Veterans Upward Bound staff has been incredibly helpful and instrumental in my success in college. They helped me get over hurdles I experienced in getting started in post-secondary.
VUB Montana prepared me to return to school and complete a degree in a field that I am passionate about. I earned a BS, Magna Cum Laude, in Human Services Counseling with a minor in Gambling Counseling. VUB experience paved the way.
