Free Education Support for Montana Veterans

Serving veterans statewide for more than 30 years

Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) is a free federally funded program serving Montana veterans and military service members who are preparing for higher education or vocational training. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education and administered by Montana State University Northern, VUB has provided statewide support for more than 30 years.

We offer free preparatory classes and workshops, tutoring, career exploration, help navigating the college process, benefit and financial aid assistance, college readiness assessments, and a laptop program — at seven locations across Montana and online statewide.
